BalancedRider™ Tai Chi Clinics use a 2 ½ day format to teach the same combination of un-mounted and mounted work as the regular lesson program. Clinics are designed and priced for participants to attend with a friend, so that participants have someone to work with after the clinic ends. The first evening session is an approximately 2-hour introduction to the principles of tai chi. The next morning, we again begin with a traditional tai chi class, learning breathing meditation; stretching; qigong exercises to supple, strengthen, and develop balance; and then learning a simple moving tai chi form. The remainder of the second day is spent in group mounted sessions. During these sessions, one member of each pair is mounted while the other member functions as a "sidewalker". In this way, the rider can focus completely on breathing, relaxation, and proper execution of the exercises. The third day again starts with a tai chi class and progresses to individual mounted sessions. Participants leave the clinic with written materials they can use to continue their tai chi practice at home.
